The story
The songs come first.
Merle Marlow Band grew out of a shared love of '90s country, modern Nashville songwriting and classic rock. Since 2019, the Montréal five-piece has been building its own catalogue around original songs written by singer-songwriter Merle Marlow and shaped by the band in the studio and on stage.
The band's identity starts with the writing: country songs rooted in the records that inspired the project, then pushed forward by five musicians with their own rock, pop and country backgrounds. Merle Marlow's appearance on La Voix in 2024 introduced that voice to a wider Québec audience, while the band kept developing its own sound on record and on the road.
The debut album Big Dreams & Gasoline arrived in 2024. Since then, the songs have taken Merle Marlow Band to Ottawa Bluesfest opening for Josh Ross, Festival Country Lotbinière, the Bluebird Cafe in Nashville and the 2025 CCMA Country Crawl in Kelowna. The band was also selected for the 2025 CCMA Country Music Week Mentorship Program.
In 2026, Let You Down (V.F.), recorded with Mégane Lebel, opened a new chapter and entered Québec’s Mediabase Francophone Top 100. A second album is now in the works as Merle Marlow Band keeps writing, recording and bringing its original country music to new audiences in Québec, Canada and Europe.
